A new exhibitor for 2016 is the Melton Mowbray & District Model Engineering Society. This flourishing society was founded in 1978 and since the 1980s has met on the second Monday of each month in the hall of Whissendine Sports Club.
The Society has raised and ground level railway tracks running 3 1/2″, 5″ and 7 1/2″ engines and passenger-carrying carriages. Members’ interests extend to traction engines, railway locos, rolling stock, steam wagons and rollers, stationary engines, boats, clocks, workshop equipment and much else. Be sure to see their stand displaying members’ work at the April show and have a look at their website here.
